「假使你行得對，哪有不抬起頭來的？你若行得不對，罪就伏在門前了；它渴想要引誘你，你卻要管制它！」
And Cain talked wit his brother: and&ne to pass， wd， that Cain rose up against A.
「該隱與他兄弟亞伯說話，二人正在田間，該隱起來打了他的兄弟亞伯，把他殺了。」
And the LORD said unto Cain， W thy brother? And he said， I know&n&ny brother's keeper?
「耶和華對該隱說，你兄弟亞伯在哪裡？他說，我不知道，我豈是看守我兄弟的嗎？」
And he said， What hast thou done? the voice of tood crieth&ne&n the ground.
「耶和華說，你做了什麼事呢？你兄弟的血，發出了聲音，從地裡向我哀告。」
And now art thou&n the earth， which hath opened&nouth to receive&n thy hand;
「地開口說話，從你手裡接受了你兄弟的血；現在你必從這地受咒詛。」
Wlest tl not d unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond st thou be in the earth.
「你種地，地不再給你效力；你必流離飄蕩在地上。」
And Cain said unto the LORD，&nent is greater than I can bear.
「該隱對耶和華說，我的罪罰太重，過於我所能擔當的。」

「你如今趕逐我離開這地，以致不見你面；我必流離飄蕩在地上，凡遇見我的必殺我。」

「耶和華對他說，凡殺該隱的必遭報七倍。耶和華就給該隱立一個記號，免得人遇見他就殺他。」

「於是該隱離開耶和華的面，去住在伊甸東邊挪得之地。」
該隱後來流浪到紅海附近，遇見因為不服上帝而跳紅海成為夜之魔女的莉麗斯。他從莉麗斯那學會了利用鮮血而使用魔法和力量，加上上帝代理耶和華曾經對他的誓約“不得殺他”，給了該隱永生的條件。
靠近十字架，那橫著的一根，在它的左側橫截面，那一小塊地方也刻著字，是另一種字跡，有點方方正正的感覺：a&nan，Cain.
